I reported for WETA-FM’s talk-show program “The Intersection” and covered the Mexican border for KPBS-FM San Diego from 2001 to 2004, when I was embedded with a Marine battallion in Fallujah, Iraq. From 2007 to 2010, I was assignment editor at Capitol News Connection, an outfit covering Capitol Hill for public radio stations.
